Our ingredients are sourced ethically and eco-consciously primarily in Canada, Australia and South America, particularly in the Amazon.
Our entire skincare range is USDA certified organic, meaning it adheres to the strict rules and regulations set forth by the USDA. Organic skincare refers to the manner in which ingredients are grown and harvested. In order to be certified as organic, agricultural practices have to be free of pesticides, herbicides, toxic substances, synthetic fertilizers and genetically modified organisms. Organic farming practices thereby create less environmental burden by decreasing pollution, reducing chemical runoff, enhancing energy-efficiency, decreasing soil erosion and protecting biodiversity overall. About Our Products
We do not and will never test on animals. We also do not sell in countries where animal testing is required.
We are completely vegan, and cruelty-free, as well as free of palm oil and its derivatives. The complete ingredient description can be found at our Ingredient Hub.
Our products do not contain palm oil or its derivatives.
We ask you to store your skincare goodies below 24 degrees Celsius/ 75 degrees Fahrenheit and ideally away from direct sunlight.
We do not use any artificial fragrances. Our beautiful scents come to you directly from nature's perfume box. Did you know that when you find the word 'fragrance' on a label, this refers to a combination of chemicals? We prefer our scents the natural, healthier way! Please note that this also means that a scent may occasionally differ just a bit between batches.
As our products are organic, we ask you to use them within 6 months of opening.
Organic products can change colour over time if they come into contact with oxygen. While most of our range comes in airless bottles, our Sea of Serenity Balm comes in a jar due to its balmy texture. If exposed to oxygen, this may lead to slight colour changes. Try to always store your products at the recommended temperature, keep your lids on tight and handle with clean hands. Please note that natural ingredients also all have their own colour and scent variations, which could lead to slight differences between orders. If you are concerned about any change that you observe in your product, please reach out to us and we will be happy to assist you.
If you are concerned about allergies, generally very sensitive to new ingredients or new to natural/organic skincare, we recommend you to perform a patch test to ensure the product does not cause any reaction.
Please study the ingredient label thoroughly in case of allergy concerns. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, do not use the product.

Unfortunately, we do not have any samples available at this point. We are working on it!
As you can probably imagine, we cannot give you a set-in-stone answer to this, as results vary greatly depending on surrounding factors (our skin can be affected by our diet, exercise, stress etc) and use consistency. If you use our products every day, as per the instructions and really develop a consistent routine, some results will be seen pretty much immediately (such as a hydrated feel and a visible glow), while others can take longer to notice. In general, it takes between two to three months to notice specific rejuvenating and/or brightening results (such as brightened pigmentation or reduced fine lines), but this can vary depending on the individual. If you actively follow our Relaxation Grotto and make use of the techniques and advice given there, results may be intensified.
Each of our product comes with a set of instructions for ideal use, please refer to the individual product pages for details. In general, we recommend our cleanser to be used twice a day, while all other products should be used at least once a day. However, if you are not using the entire range, you might want to use the serums and/or Grove of Goodness day cream more often. The Sea of Serenity balm has a very rich texture, which is why we recommend to only use it over night.

We do not offer special gift wrapping at this point, however please note that every order ships in a beautiful, magic-touched, mailer. We want to create a wonderful unboxing experience for everyone! You can also add a personalized message to your order, but please be aware that these are included as a standard black and white printout.

As a general rule, all sales are considered final. However, if your order has not reached our warehouse yet, we might be able to cancel it for you! Please reach out as soon as possible to care@raconteuseskincare.com if you need to cancel your order.
Shipping charges exclude any local customs duties or related import fees. Customs duties and taxes are additional fees charged by the respective authorities and will vary accordingly. The additional fees are the responsibility of the customer. Please contact your local authorities to determine the exact amount of duties that might need to be settled upon receipt of your products. Please also note that no returns will be issued due to customs delays or holds that are beyond our control. Unclaimed packages also do not qualify for a refund.

Our products, while still not perfect, we are just starting out, aim to be as sustainable as possible. All of our paper packaging is FSC-certified, made with non-toxic ink and fully recyclable. Our magical mailers are partially produced with renewable energies and are even compostable. Our wondrous product boxes have aqueous coatings, are made with at least 50% recycled materials and are fully recyclable. And last but not least, our thank you cards are made from 100% recycled paper and are also compostable. Also, while the more expensive option, our packaging all has custom dimensions, instead of using generic cartons, which are often too large. This way we only use the resources, which are necessary. You might notice our smaller mailer is a tad too big for just one product, however these are the minimum permitted dimensions for label placement by our shipping company.
We are also completely USDA-certified organic, cruelty-free, vegan and make use of electric vehicles along our supply chain where possible.
What's more, as a One Tree Planted partner, we sustainably plant one tree in the Amazon (or wherever it's needed most in the surrounding regions) for every order. For more details, please visit our Seat of Sustainability.
All paper packaging is FSC certified, uses eco-friendly inks and is fully recyclable. Our mailers and thank you cards are fully compostable. Our thank you cards are made out of 100% recycled paper, while our product cartons are made from at least 50% recycled paper. Our product packaging is made from lightweight PET plastic and is fully recyclable as well. We are actively working on replacing all plastic materials with biodegradable ones, however this requires extensive testing to ensure that products remain safe for use.
Our mailers are made by Arka packaging, our product cartons are made by PackMojo and our thank you cards come from noIssue.
While glass is often perceived as the more eco-friendly choice, it comes with its own drawbacks for organic skincare. As organic formulations tend to be more sensitive to external influences, glass doesn’t always offer optimal protection against moisture, air and light, which can affect shelf life and efficacy of organic skincare products. Glass is also heavier than other materials, which increases its carbon footprint.
Our primary product packaging is made out of recyclable PET plastic, which is designed to be as lightweight as possible, while still securing product stability and safety. This helps to reduce carbon footprint, when transporting the products.
Does this mean we are happy with using plastic? Definitely not, but we have to start somewhere! We are actively working on replacing all plastics with biodegradable materials and aim to be plastic-free by 2025.
All paper products, including our safety seals, can be recycled in your paper bin. The mailer boxes, as well as the thank you cards, are also compostable. The plastic product containers, including their labels, should be rinsed and then go to your plastic bin. We encourage you to check the guidelines in your local recycling program for details, as procedures might vary depending on your location. Need any help? As a company that uses paper products, we feel a responsibility to take a step further and contribute to reforestation programs. While we believe that it is essential to avoid unnecessary resource use in the first place, we cannot fully avoid the need for paper products.
Accordingly, we do our best to opt for more sustainable packaging options. Please have a look at the details above or at our Seat of Sustainability to learn more about this.
However, we still want to give back a little more, which is why we have decided to partner with One Tree Planted, an environmental non-profit dedicated to global reforestation. For every order, a tree is planted in the Amazon or nearby regions.
While many tree planting programs disrupt local ecosystems and do not plant trees in a sustainable manner, One Tree Planted is different. They approach tree planting projects in a sustainable manner, ensuring a positive impact both on an environmental and a social level.
As we sustainably source some of our beautiful ingredients from the majestic Amazon, we decided to support projects in the region, aiding in conservation and protecting biodiversity.
We sure do! Parts of our paper packaging are produced with solar energy, while electric vehicles are partially used in harvesting and along the supply chain where possible.
